RESPITE

A study called Caregiving in the U.S.2009 showed that 29% of the U.S. adult population (or about  65.7 million people) are caregivers providing an average of 20 hours of care per week.

Many caregivers try to balance life’s demands while taking care of a loved one, whether that loved one is an elderly adult or a child with special needs.  Typically, caregivers attempt to balance a full-time job with part time caregiving – many times, letting their own health take a back seat.

Avoid becoming exhausted, overworked or even ill by seeking relief to restore balance in your own life and utilizing Constellation Private Duty Respite Care.  Respite Care is aimed to relieve the caregiver while providing them with peace of mind that their loved one is safe and secure while they are away.

Respite care can be scheduled for a few hours, a few days, or even a long-term assignment based on the client’s needs.  Sometimes, clients prefer to make a regular schedule of relief visits.

Through our partnership with Constellation School Based Therapy, we also provide pediatric respite care.

“Every day, I call my mother from my home in Massachusetts. Today, my mother called me to sing Happy Birthday to my husband. Jacinthe dialed the phone for her. Ever since Jacinthe has been providing care to my mother, there has been a tremendous change in her attitude and well-being. I can hear it in her voice. My mother (almost) always sounds cheerful, which was missing before Jacinthe came to care for her. She is more sociable and interested in current events.

When my sister Kathleen, who lives with my mom but works full time, arrives home – there is never disarray in the house. Jacinthe engages my mother in conversation and they seem to share a very nice relationship. I have never met Jacinthe personally, since we live so far away and visit on weekends only. But she is an ANGEL!”
